    Controller Stick Drift Test

This focused test waits for a deliberate hands-off sample before it says anything about drift, then shows center offset, P95 rest radius and range coverage.

This browser does not expose the Gamepad API.

    Repeat on a stable surface.

    How this test works

    1. 1Set the deadzone you use in games.
    2. 2Start calibration and release both sticks.
    3. 3Keep them untouched through preparation and sampling.
    4. 4Rotate each stick around the outer ring, then compare results.

    Result interpretation

P95 at or below half the deadzone is within; above half but within the deadzone is near the threshold; above the deadzone needs attention. These are SetupCheck heuristics.

    • A browser sample is not factory calibration.
    • Temperature and controller profiles can affect values.
    • Calibration is not written back to hardware.

    Troubleshooting

    01Repeat on a stable surface.
02Disable software deadzone/remapping layers when comparing raw values.
03Compare USB and Bluetooth manually if behavior differs.

    Frequently asked questions

    What deadzone should I choose?

Start with the value used by your game; 10% is the page default, not a universal recommendation.

Why does the dot move slightly?

Analog sticks normally have some noise. The calibrated P95 value is more useful than one frame.
